Successful Show at IAEE Expo! Expo!

We just wrapped up at IAEE Expo! Expo! We showcased our photo activation software, data capture as well as several interactive games, including a custom game with Kinect Motion technology. By simply moving your arms in a steering wheel motion you can direct a car through a virtual city.

We teamed up with Cordell Racing who offers simulated racing experiences and corporate branding on Nascar race cars. By combining our event technology and social media solutions with Cordell’s expertise in corporate sponsorship and promotions at events and tradeshows, we can offer clients an even greater opportunity to draw crowds and generate brand recognition.

This unique combination drew in a large crowd as well as much interest in our combined offering. What did we learn? Two IS greater than one and it’s always a good idea to pack extra hardware so when all the parts don’t arrive, you are in a much better place to start the show!

Cardboard Provides Immersive Experience

Last week I wrote about a new immersive technology by Samsung. This week I read an article about Google Cardboard, another immersive product introduced last June that is currently being used by Volvo. Cardboard is a rendition of Oculus Rift that’s made out of—you guessed it, cardboard and it’s being used in a marketing campaign to create a simulated driving experience for Volvo’s XC90.

Critics say the experience is not as immersive as Oculus. At a cost of only $7, using cardboard, magnets, some lenses and velcro—seems it would provide an awesome ROI. Read about it here.cardboard

Immersive Video Activation Creates True Virtual Reality

Custom Branded Games

Engaging potential customers in a fun interactive way is a great way to generate brand awareness. Elation Digital has developed a repertoire of games with various technologies: touch, motion, interactive, driving, puzzle, and trivia which are fully customizable based on the event, the target market and specific brand campaign goals.

For the launch of LG’s new G-Flex phone, we created a custom branded interactive game that could be deployed to storefronts or inside retail locations. Passers by were attracted by a customized attraction loop that invited them to play an immersive type game using just their body motion

Fixed Installations – Interactive for Fixed Installation – New Reel

Our team has been working with several projects recently in what we call “fixed installations”.  Our company comes from the experiential space where we’ve generally provided interactive for events, trade shows and more recently experiential campaigns.  Fixed installations are permanent or semi permanent interactive displays and experiences.  Think of museums and exhibits.

Our team launched a project for FIFA, soccer’s main organizing body to promote the power of soccer to connect emotionally.  We created an immersive room experience working with Sony (a sponsor to FIFA) where our team blended hours of soccer footage into a 4 wall video driven by multiple video projectors, and integrated several sensors to track heart beats, and a virtual penalty shot, all to bring the audience into the spirit of the game.

We’ve been working with several fixed installation projects including a corporate museum for a chocolate factory and an exhibit highlighting the early seafaring explorers.

Experiential Marketing and Goal of Emotional Connections

Have you ever been at a concert and just really FELT the music?  Just really be part of the moment, the combination of the environment, the sound, the people around you.  Political rallies, concerts, commencement speech’s…It’s hard to explain these amazing experiences and how they can connect with you, but it’s this alchemy that we strive for when we put together immersive interactive environments and interactive experiences.

Connecting on an emotional level is not an exact science, but our team continues to grow at brainstorming ideas working with our agency partners on specific campaigns to add emotion into the equation.  Depending on the brand or campaign, it can be simple and light; a simple game to evoke the positive feeling of enjoying a game or photo experience, or it can be as deep and moving as connecting to a deeper place in peoples hearts; an immersive experience of a profound event, like reliving the Miracle of Fatima, faithfully executed with a life sized holographic visit from the Virgin Mary in the replicated surroundings projected and immersed with surround sounds, environments using the latest in emerging technology.

Experiential Marketing is about reaching people on a one to one basis.  Giving people an opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings with other people and use that opportunity to talk about the brand product in an authentic and relevant way.  We are working on putting together an authoritative case study with research, but our experience is that by adding the emotional connection into the interactive portion of the campaign results can be exponentially improved.  Giving the audience the opportunity to be part of the discussion, and truly be engaged and connected through their emotional feelings will help build brand equity.

Experiential marketing will continue to grow because it’s bringing back the one and one connections that drove discussions, recommendations, and word of mouth “advertising” that was lost during the traditional marketing days.  Technology and digital interactive experiences are helping reach brand and campaign goals and will continue to see growth going forward.

Elation Digital Brand Launch

Today, we’ve officially launched Elation Digital as the new brand identity for our company.  Our team is really excited about the strategic shift to focus on providing interactive solutions to our agency partners for events, experiential tours and retail installations.   We continue to grow our team and capabilities.

The name Elation was chosen because it’s always our goal to create positive emotional connections with our brand client’s target audience through the creative use of technology and content.  Brand experiences continue to grow in importance to our agency partners and their campaign strategies and we want to be able to provide the best service and technology solutions to deliver these interactive experiences in tight timeframes.

We’re really excited about the transition and look forward to hearing feedback from our existing partners and also to start new relationships with agencies.
